Dear Alumni,

We are soon reaching the end of the first semestre and the summer break is coming! But before going on holidays, we would like to invite you to attend our two last events of the season.

We are happy to come back to you with two movie-debate evenings for June 2023!

  • Tuesday 8th, June at 18:00: More water, a challenge for the 21st century (Dronningens Gate 16, 0152 Oslo)
In collaboration with Cinemateket i Oslo, Institut français de Norvège proposes a debate on the theme of water. At a time when the whole world is concerned by droughts, the supply of drinking water is one of the main concerns of the planet. Inspired by Antoine Boutet’s film South to North, this debate will raise the question of water scarcity and its consequences.

SPEAKERS:
  • Antoine Boutet, French artist and awarded documentary director, among which South to North (original title: "Sud Eau Nord Déplacer")
  • Nils Vidar Rystad, Assistant project director of the “new water supply Oslo” project at the Norwegian Wastewater Agency, Oslo municipality
  • Dr Sindre Langaas, Research manager for the section Water & Society at NIVA (Norwegian Institute for Water Research)
This debate will be moderated by Yelliz Yilmaz, Researcher at the UiO.

The debate will be followed by the screening of South to North (109', 2014, in original version with English subtitles). You can watch the trailer here.
"Nuit des idées" (Night of ideas) is an international programme developped by French Institutes to celebrate the free movement of ideas. For the 2023 edition, we have chosen “the fours seasons of water” as a main theme.

  • Save the date: Well-being at work, a Franco-Norwegian perspective on Wednesday 28th, June 2023!
We invite you in our premises (Holtegata 29) to discover the French comedy "Adieu les cons" by Albert Dupontel with Virgine Efira in the leading role [family film in French with English subtitles]. This movie, "Bye bye morons" in English, has been awarded 7 César awards in 2021. The screening will be followed by an open discussion with two researchers from UiO (University of Oslo) and a French buffetYou can watch the trailer here.

All our events are FREE and in ENGLISH!

We look forward to seeing many of you on both June 8th and June 28th!
